Independence Day weekend is here, and the 128 corridor is putting on a show. Newton pulls out all the stops with an all-day carnival, live music, and fireworks at dusk. Arlington gathers at Robbins Farm Park for the Boston Pops broadcast under the stars. And if you'd rather spend Saturday in a dark theater eating popcorn — the Brattle is screening Jaws in Cambridge, which is frankly the most patriotic thing you can do on the Fourth.

Saturday in Newton — all-day July 4th carnival, food trucks, and fireworks at Albemarle Field
Saturday in Arlington — live oldies band + Boston Pops broadcast at Robbins Farm Park
Saturday in Watertown — Toy Story 5 and Minions & Monsters at the Majestic 7
Sunday in Waltham — free outdoor Finding Nemo at the historic Lyman Estate

Closings
Cambridge
Tampopo — Cambridge | After 34 years serving donburi, tempura, and katsu don in Porter Square's beloved "Little Tokyo" food court, Tampopo has closed. Owner Yasumasa Ito has retired — and the neighborhood is quieter for it. Closed end of June 2026. axios.com

If you haven't been, you're overdue. tripadvisor.com ---
